I'm not seeing anything since May the 6th. Is there any hope for this one?

This died in the House Criminal Jurisprudence committee without a hearing.

I was afraid that was what had happened. That was the bill that I care the most about, since it affects me frequently. Sounds like something I can thank Bonnen for?

Bonnen is Speaker of the House. SB 117 is a Senate Bill.

Right, but if I"m understanding correctly, it passed the Senate and then was passed on to the House where it died in committee. It's my understanding that the chair of that committee is a Dem appointed by Bonnen.

Unless I’m looking at it wrong, the bill passed the Senate on 5/3, and was sent to the House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee, chaired by Rep. Nicole Collier (D-Ft. Worth), on 5/6.

My bad, I didn’t check the legislation page before post. Yeah, then Bonnen is responsible for putting a Democrat on the committee chair

See Charles' response to the committee chair appointments at the beginning of the session.

She was one of the two that he called out specifically.

Dennis Bonnen picked an anti gun committee chair but never forget the legislators who picked Bonnen for Speaker of the House.
