A good friend of mine who is a trooper sent this to me..I thought it would be a good review....Stay safe out there guys. God bless all of our LEO's and RIP Justin Hurst. :patriot: :txflag:

The Below link is the in car video from one of the officers involved in the chase which ended in a shoot out and Game Warden Justin Hurst being killed. The Jury found the defendant guilty of Capital Murder last week and gave him Death as punishment. The video goes out when a round from the AK-47 hits the camera. This all started from a stop where the defendant was going to receive a citation for shooting from the roadway.

Good opportunity for self teaching:

Watch the time in seconds. Note the second mark of the first shot by the Perp, and the last shot by the Perp with his handgun. Then, re-watch it and count the shots. Once again this shows how fast defensive combat occurs.

Next, count the seconds between the end of the first round of shooting by the Perp, and when he resumes with the AK. I wonder if the LEOs thought he was down before he came up again. From the audio, it sounds like it was a surprise.

Finally, note the time the camera was shot out, and compute the time from the first shot to black screen. We've got to practice and be ready....and stay safe...

A little thread resurrection.

I was perusing the TDCJ list of executed offenders, and read a synopsis that sounded familiar. The man convicted of killing Game Warden Justin Hurst was executed on 27 Jan 2016.

The link in the OP from 2008 is dead.

The links I put up just today should work.

This was one of the faster executions of a death sentence. Not quite nine years from murder to execution.
