Hi Poperb...just read your post. We have an FFL here in wichita falls with whom I've done business. I think that his fee is $25.
Here is the info:
John Jay Gilmore
4300 Mount Scott
W.F. TX
Ph.# 940.692.6629

He also does limited gunsmithing. Hope this helps.

You might want to give this a try:

http://www.gunslive.com/dealerlocator/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Type in your ZIP code and it'll tell you what FFL's are in your area. I used it for a gun transfer back in April. Found one 6 blocks from my house even!

[btw, I grew up outside of Henrietta, a bazillion years ago.]

I would stay away from Gilmore Engineering. Called repeatedly and left messages before ordering rifle from Eastcoast. Dealer Gilmore refused order. Charged a $25 restocking fee. Vendor did blackball this guy at my request. He was their first choice previously. Find someone else.

The guys on K Mart Drive are great. I traded in a pistol for one they had with a little cash. They are a small shop but have a pretty good inventory. Personally I would not deal with Gilmore as he is a little squirelly. I have had dealings with Gunco in Wichita Falls as well, well stocked, nice people.

go to Buds gun on the web, click Find FFL, put in your zip code and you should get a list of FFLs in your area.

:iagree: A good and easy way to go. Especially since Buds often has very good prices.
