Houston Gunsmith for M1 Carbine?

#1

Post by iratollah »

My beautiful Jan 1944 issue M1 Carbine from IBM that I got years ago at the CMP store needs some slide work. I keep thinking I'm going to ship it to the CMP gunsmith but that's sort of a hassle. Can anyone please recommend an established Houston area gunsmith that can bring my rifle back to range ready condition? TIA.

Subscribing. I have my dad's carbine and would like to know of a good gunsmith for it if I ever need one.

You might try Peter at Texas Gun Club in Stafford. He fixed a OU shotgun of my PaPa's from the 1930's that has been broken for 46 years as I could not find anyone who could or would work on it.

What needs done? Most work you could do yourself just by swapping parts.
