Wall anchors for .22lr snap caps

#1

Post by kg5ie »

Looking for the “correct” wall anchor size. Tried a search and found a recommendation for 4-6-8.

They don’t work. 🤬. But I have 100! Tne lip at the end is too small it goes into the chamber.

Anyone using these can you please give me the correct size?

Thnx

Not sure why you are having an issue. I use these 4-6-8 x 7/8" and they work fine for me.

I don’t think these will protect the firing pin.

Interesting. Below is a wall anchor from the link above compared to a "real" 22 snapcap.

That link is exactly what and where I ordered. Numbers on my box match.

Both an actual round and my aluminum snap caps measure .272. These anchors measure .234. 😩

I don't get it. Why not just order some snap caps and be done with it? Surely your time running all over the place trying to find one that works is worth something.

I just measured a few of mine at the rim and they varied between .270" and .272". I purchased mine box over a year ago.

Even though the center is hollow the firing pin should strike the outer edges; at least I assume that's the theory behind using them
