ATF Introducing eForm 4 w/ Electronic Fingerprints in December 2021

Post by tomneal »

I bought a suppressor this year
Started in January and finished in November
It wasn't my first suppressor

There are rumors that the process will speed up.

I remember a few years back when I heard that the BATFE was no longer going to require a chief law enforcement official in your county to approve individuals. I thought everyone would start suppressing their firearms. You know. Just to be polite.

Today I heard that the BATFE is going to streamline the process
The goal would be to complete the process in 3 months by the end of 2022
and then speed it up even more.

I know people that don't want to be on "THE LIST". That ship sailed long ago for me. Plan B: Make "THE LIST" HUGE. So "THEY" will not mess with us.

I’ve always said everyone is on some kind of a list somewhere for something. I heard the excuse from an individual that they didn’t want their handgun license because they didn’t want the government to have their information. My response was oh okay so what about your drivers license and social security number? I hope they streamline it. They are overwhelmed with applications anyway. Might as well make it easier on themselves.

The person I think of the most, that didn't want to be on "THE LIST" has been a life member of the NRA for 40 years or so...

Also, has anyone else seen USPS Informed Delivery.

As long as the paper that gets sent back has the actual physical $200 stamp. That's the coolest part.
4/13/1996 Completed CHL Class, 4/16/1996 Fingerprints, Affidavits, and Application Mailed, 10/4/1996 Received CHL, renewed 1998, 2002, 2006, 2011, 2016...). "ATF... Uhhh...heh...heh....Alcohol, tobacco, and GUNS!! Cool!!!!"

eForm 1 was already the way to go for Form 1's. eForm 4 can only help.

I don't really know why they didn't already have an eForm 4. I can only guess that someone somewhere wanted a slow process with traditional Form 4s.... but I imagine the AFT has been bombarded with so many traditional Form 4's they finally decided they had to do them electronically. They don't have the personnel to handle all the traditional paperwork.

Waiting 300 days to process a form and background check is insanely ineffective. We are living in 2021 the AI age is here, almost here.

I’ve been signed up for USPS Informed Delivery for a few months now. It’s pretty cool, but a little bit disturbing when you look at the photo, and can almost read your mail through the envelope.

USPS Informed Delivery
I am just suggesting that if you want to stay off "THE LIST"
You would have to only buy firearms through private sales
Never use your credit card at a sporting goods store
Never get mail from a sporting goods store
Never be a member of something like TexasCHLForum
Never be a member of a gun rights org

Without effort, I can think of a dozen ways that I am on "THE LIST"

Soooo....

Plan B:
Make "THE LIST" so big that "THEY" will not mess with the folks on the list.

I like Plan B. There are a couple of suppressors I’ve been looking at.

A better solution, be the man at the terminal and hit delete all for the list. That is, of course, being at the helm of those who want the list in the first place.
