M&P 9 Shield - leaked photo

Post by Jumping Frog »

Here's what S&W is announcing at the NRA Convention.

Image

Single stack, it looks like its probably a 3" barrel. Guess they are going for the small Ruger LC9 or SA XD-S segment.

Can't really tell from the photo, but I suspect it is a one-size fits all single piece backstrap.

The slide says it's a 9MM. I wonder if they'll have other calibers available.

A single stack M & P in any available caliber might generate a lot of sales.

Between my 3" KImber and our three Kahrs, I'm sold on the concept of small single-stack pistols. If they're pocketable, that's even better. I would give this one a look. I like my M&P45.

If a version without the thumb safety is not offered, then I'm not interested.

I'd be interested in one of these for the wife. I'll have to try and talk her into a his and hers because I'd want one as well.

I concur. I am not a fan of manual safeties on my pistols. I prefer the point and pull type.

I used to like the thumb safety...now it just gets in the way. I prefer the other methods out there.

Does Springfield have a single stack 9mm? I thought they just came out with the XD slim in .45? Were you talking about the EMP or something? ...hoping you were talking about a new XD slim in 9mm that slipped under my radar

3 of my guns do not have manual safeties--1 does-but I don't use it

my 2 primary safeties are my finger and my brain--and that is the way I teach also
