Pawpaw turned me on to EezOx and I've been using it ever since. It's both solvent and lubricant. And it smells good! :biggrinjester:

Slip2000EWL here as well. First was Hoppe's, then Breakfree CLP, and now the Slip. To be honest it all seemed to work just fine.

I also had someone tell me I used too much lube on a pistol. Is the gun malfunctioning? Is there rust? Are you paying for the lube? Unless the answer to any of those is yes, then I didn't use too much.

I use Hoppes #9 solvent, and oil, I also have some Sentry Solutions dry lubes, but I only use the grease in them along with the silicone? impregnated rags.
I still have some Remoil, that works just as well also.

I agree with Jago668, I use plenty of oil, and never had an issue.

Motul 20W50 oil of some sort. The higher viscosity makes it easier to apply. Also, whatever mystery stuff Motul puts in their oil makes it so that all the parts are still slick even though things seem dried up after shooting.

Count me in as a frog lube user as well. Been using it since it came out on all my guns and I have had zero issues. The haters can hate but my guns clean up much easier with Frog Lube. Stuff is awesome!

My guess is some folks just can't follow directions.

I like froglube for knives as stated earlier but hate it for guns. I used it on my shot guns for about a year and it almost completely shut down my benelli SBE 1 during duck season. It made the bolt so slow it wouldn't cycle reliably. When it got cold it congealed and just became nasty and caused all kinds of other issues. Once I discovered that, I cleaned it all out and went back to my usual stuff as stated earlier as well and never another problem. After that instance I decided never again would I use it on any of my guns.

I use grease (Slide Glide Medium/Lite or Slip 2000 EWG) on just about all my weapons, the exception being Slip EWL on my AR BCG. I don't like how oil migrates, especially in a firearm that's carried in a holster. Grease stays put especially in the hotter months.

Pistol slides - hoppes grease
Pistol lowers - hoppes oil or Hornady one shot cleaner/dry lube depending
Barrel - breakfree clp

Ar upper- slip2000
Ar lower - hoppes oil or Hornady one shot cleaner/dry lube depending
Ar barrel - break free clp

Shotgun - grease on the action and clp down the barrel

Wow. I'm probably putting way too much thought into it now that I write it out.
