Does anybody here still carry a revolver?

I know the polymer wonder guns ya the takin the market by storm and for good reason. The size, weight, capacity and the list goes on make them excellent carry pistols. I carry a Glock 43 everyday for those reasons. I recently picked up another revolver. A Ruger SP101 2.25” barrel. I really love this gun. I have a new iwb holster coming from AZULA holsters. If your not familiar with them you should be. They are top quality at a good price and lifetime warranty. Anyways, I am going to start to carry my revolver from time to time and I have found from wearing it around the house that it conceals better and carry’s better than most semi autos. I have always liked the 357 magnum and the revolver cartridges over auto loading ones. The revolver ones just have more mmph and are quite fun to shoot. I really like the double and single action capabilities and a revolver is usually more accurate than an auto. I was just curious on if any of you fine people still carry a wheel gun in the polymer age of today

I carried a 3" SpP101 for a time (but traded it away), but now it is a Steyr subcompact. I plan to get another SP soon, and maybe an LCR to replace the Steyr.

Not me, and I have an SP101 .357 Magnum with a spurless hammer, so double action only.

It's a hideout gun for inside the house.

I bought it new a long time before getting my CHL.

Soon, I realized it was too heavy for every day carry and capacity was to say the least (5 rounds) ...limited.

However, it is a work of art. Built like a tank and yes, gorgeous. I keep it available, but shoot it sparingly and have zero interest in selling it. I carried it exactly once as a BUG. Too much hardware. Heck, if I was going to carry a BUG, it'd be another semi-auto with greater capacity. However, carrying a BUG, blah, too much hardware. If one is thinking a BUG is necessary, I'd carry another G19.

I have 4 semi autos that are in my regular EDC rotation, but I still manage to put on the 642 every now and then when I want something easy.

I just read a post on another forum about someone who was robbed by two people at knife point in Houston. They pulled an automatic and pulled the trigger, but forgot to take of the safety. They ended up in a struggle with one robber for the gun, but eventually got it, then the robbers ran away. I carry a compact .380 with the safety on. For this reason I may consider going back to my SP101 .357. I believe the close assault scenario is one of the more likely for me to get involved in based on my habits and location.

Ruger LCR .38 special OWB. First round is snakeshot when out on the property. Carry extra speedstrips too. I don't think I could handle the .357 version in a snubby. Nice thing is I don't have to bend over to pick up brass. 90% of the time I carry something automatic IWB and sometimes OWB.

I have always enjoyed shooting revolvers and have quite an assortment.

I am looking forward to carrying the SP101 a bunch. I don’t fee outgunned with it and I always carry a reload even with my auto loaders so round count to me is irrelevant. I do however believe in malfunctions so having extra rounds is always a good option.

My wife replaced her Ruger LCR .38 with a Walther PPS M2. Easier to carry and conceal. Simply because it is available, I now carry the LCR in a Remora holster in my left front pocket. The LCR is backup to the S&W M&P M2.0 9mm 5inch that I carry openly in a Safariland 7TS ALS retention holster on my right hip. The little LCR and two spare S&W magazines serve as a good counter balance to the M&P.

S&W model 36, 37, 38 are among the collection of revolvers I carry from time to time.
I don't understand the draw to the newer ruger revolvers over the vintage s&w's on the used market. For less money you get a gun that will go up in value and has a better trigger.

The three that make the rotation is a S&W model 65 3”, a Ruger service six 4” and a Ruger SP101 2.25”. I still love my wheels. :tiphat:

I have a S&W 36 no dash. It was made August 1984 and hasn’t been shot five rounds. I love it I just don’t carry it. I carry a couple of other J Frames.

I am on the look out for a S&W 37. So if your gets to be a burden you have my number. :thumbs2:
