Welcome to Texas. My father lived in Park Forest for many years so I spent many summers in Illinois when it was still a good place to visit. Texans know Austin is a very liberal city but in spite of the negatives, I always enjoyed my trips to Austin for good food and recreation. You will enjoy living in Texas. A smart move and, in general, a great place to earn a living.

Welcome to the forum! I grew up In Glenview. I am also a non-resident Illannoy CCL since I have to go back to Illannoy to visit family each year.

I think you will be the second IL CCL instructor in Texas.

The warnings about Austin are true, but Texas is whole lot better than Illannoy.

And the Texas Military Forces Museum. All Texas military forces locations are open carry friendly, by order of the Adjutant General.
