Re: Sig 365 question
I just spoke to Sig and they told me there is no mag discount safety. I am sold on this pocket pistol as a backup.

Re: Sig 365 question
I don't know if it is ready for prime time yet. Why are you sold on it?

Re: Sig 365 question
No mag safety. There are some really good holster options out now.

Re: Sig 365 question
Had one 4 days was it! sold it for what I paid just did not shoot it as well as others, it worked fine. Stick with my Glock 32 or 1911's. Have a 45 Shield also that goes occasionally.

Re: Sig 365 question
Feels good, looks good (does this matter?), good capacity, good size. Firing pin just scares the hell out of me for a carry gun.

Re: Sig 365 question
I carry mine almost everyday except Sundays. Today I am carrying it in my pocket, but most of the time it is OWB. I do not see any more problems with the P365 than I do with any other striker fired pocket gun. The holster is the key!
Re: Sig 365 question
Weren’t they having an issue with something around the firing pin breaking?

Re: Sig 365 question
They did In the beginning have striker issues and others. I waited until just a while back before I bought. Some call in generation 2, but Sig denies it is different. Mine has about 800 rounds through it now with only two FTE on the first mag. Nothing, but reliable since.
Re: Sig 365 question
Yes, they’ve had some issues with firing pins breaking. The pistol tends to drag primers, which in and of itself is not a big deal. The issue is that the firing pin is round where the firing pin on a glock for example is more rectangular shaped giving more support. Some have had great luck and some have broken in 100 rounds. There are aftermarket alternatives, but I’m going to hold out until sig fixes the problem (which I have full confidence in).
On that day I’ll be first in line at my local gun store.
I really do love the idea of the pistol.

Re: Sig 365 question
I have heard that sig has redesigned the striker assembly in the p365. They have thickened the portion where the tip meets the body of the striker. Mine is an October 2018 made unit and appears to have this redesigned part.
Sig has stated that the initial return rate of p365s for striker breakage was 0.08%. I am not exactly sure what the industry average is but I’d imagine it is probably in that ball park.
The internet is a great place to divulge information about products and as a consumer we benefit from this free exchange of information. I can imagine that the 80 or so individuals out of the first 100,000 that had their sig break were pretty disappointed. However, this model IS special; it does something which we as consumers never before thought possible. While there are many other manufacturers who make exceptional weapons, Sig has in the 365 sent them scrambling. We will be the beneficiaries of this renewed arm race.
The 365 has made many people stop and reevaluate their stable of carry guns. This can make people a bit “cranky” as we all search for the greener grass of carry perfection and to some extent believe we have found it.
This gun is under high scrutiny.
I have a “few” great pistols; the 365 keeps them put away. This kinda makes me sad.
