I’m sure criminals will be licking their lips at the thought of getting their hands on a “safe gun”. All criminals will turn in their normal guns and only use smart guns. Everyone will be safe now.

I like the compact size.
Gun control is like stopping drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to drive.

I disagree. I think it needs to be the sole weapon used by any security for anyone that supports gun control for the same time frame. Then we give it to the FBI for a few decades, and then we can begin police department testing.
I'm OK with that for Federal law, and before any State (I'm looking at you California) passes a law on "smart guns" they should be required to have the three largest law enforcement agencies in that State carry them as duty guns for at least three decades. Any updates to "smart gun" technology resets the three decade countdown clock.
