What happens if the air bags deploy, but are hindered by the seat covers?

Getting in and out of my truck with my Sig is zero problems but a whole different matter with the wife’s Ford Fusion sedan. My extra magazine on the left side always hangs up on the seat bolster. My solution is to not drive the Fusion unless absolutely necessary.

I noticed that the driver’s seatbelt buckle (the part you clip into) on my old truck was scratched up quite a bit from my carry guns. Oh well. :headscratch

Some makers address that specifically... this from Wet Okole's site, on seats with air bags:
Each seat cover's front and sides are impact air bag compatible and have been tested at an airbag lab for compliance.
