Well this is sad. They are stocked up like crazy. They had 4 different brands of 223. I just bough 10 boxes of federal 55 gr 200 rounds for 57 bucks a box.

Now I have to go explain this purchase... to her...

I was accosted at a walmart by one of their door greeters back in 2011 on the way out. He demanded to see my receipt for a large cart full of bagged groceries. after that I stopped going until January 2016 When HEB declared their stance on open carry of handguns. In those years (2011-2015) I spent about 3-4thousand a year between HEB and target. and about 500-1000 a year on ammunition online.

In 2016 I took almost all of that business into walmart. Until September 2019...

I think I might spend a few hundreds more if they're going to liquidate their 9mm reserves, but after that wal-mart is on my personal embargo list.

Originally, I felt that banning open carry was more a dress code thing than a freedom thing.

However, everything that goes along with any civil rights restrictions is awful.

I'm starting to get grumpy about 30.07, even though I don't open carry.

Dropping ammo sales because "reasons" is spineless.

I wonder how many “mass” shooting started with someone open carrying a handgun IN A HOLSTER.

Walmart has been a pain to shop in for years. Now that they are pushing the online ordering with parking lot pickups it’s even worse. Aisles blocked by employees s dragging their carts filling orders.
It’s like Walmart doesn’t want anyone actually coming in the stores, which might be a feature instead of a bug!

Seems like more and more companies are turning into Dick’s

Whata burger does the same thing with OC. The Kmart plan of business will be successful this time just like socialism.

They may loose business from other people, but they never had any from me to begin with in that area. I'm going out on a limb and say that's the effect on an overwhelming majority of their customers.

TL/DR - Stock up, handload.
Even the front check out is sparsely populated. They have fifty registers and two open.

So define handgun ammunition... I have rifles that fire .45 acp and 9mm. I have pistols that fire .223 .300 and 45-70. This is just trying to please those who will never be pleased until they stop selling all guns, ammo, knives, hatchets, sharp sticks etc...no win scenario . They lost my business.

How on earth are they thinking that this policy somehow makes the store a safer environment? There is zero common sense in this. Nothing about this policy would have kept a guy with an AK from walking in shooting. It is just silliness.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but posting no open carry (30.07) in Texas only precludes licensed individuals from carry handguns and not long rifles? How would this prevent the El Paso incident or the Missouri guy from openly carrying a rifle? I’m assuming these events are the drivers behind releasing such a policy.

Yep, it's kinda' like goin' to the circus.

On a more serious note, I'd be very surprised if the price of our boolits doesn't go up in the stores that still carry 'em. You reckon?
