Remington 1911
I have one 1911. Full size.
Am thinking about the Remington Commander 1911.
Anyone have one??? How do you Like it.

Re: Remington 1911
I have a Commander, not a Remington, but a Sr1911.
I really like the Commander size, I use it in action pistol matches.
For me it just handles a little quicker that a full size, that’s probably just a “ mental” thing for me.
I do sometimes use a full size in the matches but the Commander is my favorite. It is also what I carry
at worship service.

Re: Remington 1911
A few years ago I picked up my Remington 1911 R1 (govment) in 45. It’s great. Haven’t had a single issue with it. It’s on target. Even my wife loves shooting it. But of course as you already know since you have a full size, it’s a heavy firearm. I used to carry it more frequently.

By the way, I am taking it for granted that even though these come with 7 rd mags they will accept Wilson Combat 8 round mags.?????

Re: Remington 1911
For concealed carry I think you'll find that Commander size 1911s are preferred. along with CCOs. My experience with the REM 1911 base model has been nothing but positive. It's also probably worth noting that REM bought Para Ordnance a few years back just after they had moved to AL, and about the only complaint you ever heard about POs was the series 80 safety system. I won't say all, but a good number of the REMs use the preferred series 70 system. I'd think their Commanders would be as good as any.

Re: Remington 1911
R1 is a nice gun for the price. No problems with either of mine.
