Elizaveta Zlatkis doesn’t own any working firearms, but the Queens, New York woman is still facing a felony-level gun charge after the NYPD raided her home last December and confiscated what appeared to be 22 different long guns and hand guns from her home.
As it turns out, all of the supposed firearms but one were actually airsoft gun or starter pistols, and the one actual firearm had been rendered inoperable because the trigger, hand grips, and internal parts had all been removed. Despite the fact that none of Zlatkis’ guns were actually guns, Queens D.A. Melinda Katz has not only refused to drop the charges but has declined to offer Zlatkis a plea deal.

Not to bash the NYPD, but the Bearing Arms article included what evidently is a photo of the officers back at a branch HQ showing off the dangerous Airsoft cache they had successfully taken off the streets:
I mean, if that's the law in NYC, that's the law. But posing as if they'd just made a major felony bust? Did any of them receive commendations for the operation?
Texas may not be perfect, but thank the Good Lord I live here and not anywhere near NYC.
Edited to add: Looks like there might be one or two break-barrel, single-shot pellet guns in the mix. So maybe there was something in the collection that could actually break skin. But still.

Normally I back the blue to a fault but those clowns posing like teens at the prom are a disgrace. OOOHHHH!!!!! look at us... we [9 officers armed with REAL guns] took a few bb guns from an old lady who cooperated! Give us a raise!!!!
Is it a felony to own an airsoft or pellet gun in NYC???
Well the frame is the firearm. So that one charge may be legit.and the one actual firearm had been rendered inoperable because the trigger, hand grips, and internal parts had all been removed.
