I'm glad it turned out the way it did. But, if it were me, I probably would have pulled the trigger.

Yes, the car owner is lucky he was facing a finger gun instead of a real one.

Having said that, kudos to him for driving off the bandits.

Correction: the car owner was facing an idiot...

This is an example of why I lock my car doors as soon as I am inside the car or why I lock the doors when I go inside a store while wife stays in the car.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

I also turned off the feature that automatically unlocks the vehicle when I put it in park.

This happened a few miles away from me. We've seen an increase in this type of activity in the past few years due to the population growth. I'm glad it turned out well for the man in the car though. There's still plenty more of these thugs out there that just don't get it and I'm sure there will be more of these type of encounters in the future.

A few things to mention based upon what I've learned.

1. Keep your doors locked.
2. Never attempt to draw you gun if a gun has been drawn on you. Wait your turn to draw when you get the opportunity.
3. Who ever shoots first on target....wins.

an experienced gun owner and concealed carry permit holder, reached for a bag and pulled out his 40 caliber handgun and pointed it at Jefferson.
If a carjacker is already in your car and then you have to fish a gun out of a bag, you better thank God tonight that he didn't have a real gun... and that he was so mentally slow that he let you rummage through a bag for your weapon. That could have ended very badly for the GG.

The guy talked to the Fox 4 news team way longer than I would have for sure. In CC class they stressed to NOT talk to the media after an incident -- be it a shoot or a brandishment.
