Bullet Loading Depth

#1

Post by Crash »

I know that, theoretically, it may not be a good idea to seat the base of the bullet below the bottom of the case neck. But, is there any problem with seating the base of the bullet above the bottom of the case neck?

Any input appreciated,

Crash

Depends on the gun and cartridge. I reload 45LC for revolvers. The bullet would be too long for the cylinder if you did that. Also, might not fit in a magazine properly, or not want to chamber. Doesn't sound like a good idea.
