I've always known it was clear that the founders intended the 2nd Amendment to be an individual right. What I didn't know was that they specifically rejected language stating that it was "for the common defence".
Since I read this, I've found that this section of the Senate Record has been known for a few years, but it hasn't been widely circulated.
