Reps. Davis and Pascrell Introduce Gun Violence Prevention and Safe Communities Act

They definitely cannot read FBI statistics
Area Year Population Violent crime Murder and non-negligent
United manslaughter
States 2010 309,330,219 1,251,248 14,722
Total. 2011 311,591,917 1,203,564 14,612
404.5 violent crimes per 100,000 people in 2010
4.8 murder and non-negligent manslaughter per 100,000 people in 2010
386.3 violent crimes per 100,000 people in 2011
4.7 murder and non-negligent manslaughter per 100,000 people in 2011
The problem is People are violent, some PEOPLE more than others, and guns are not even a factor.

He's on to something. Politicians find it extremely hard to resist passing new taxes.

Yeah, taxing law abiding citizens is going to deter criminals. Who do they think they're fooling?
