Murthy's Confirmation Barely Passes

#1

Post by Keith B »

Vivek Murthy's appointment as Surgeon General met with a lot of resistance in the U.S. Senate due to his highly negative views on guns.

That worthless bum Kirk (IL) is to blame for this one. The confirmation went through by one vote and it's his fault in this case.
It's fine if you disagree. I can't force you to be correct.

As a Surgeon General, does he even have the authority to pull this off?
With the loser in chief in the White House do you actually need an answer to your question?

Exactly..... not to mention Reid allowing the vote to go through....

No. He can make recommendations, and counsel Obama on memoranda and executive orders, but he does not actually have the power to enforce regulation. The other thing is, Congress might take the issues out of his hands, if the administration pushes too hard.

Elections have consequences, to quote the current presidential poseur. Yes. Take back the White House..... although from my perspective some of the republican frontrunners would not be that big of an improvement either.
