Sent it all in - Plastic recieved

#1

Post by Lupine »

Mailed all the paperwork to Austin. Took the course yesterday. Fingerprints and paid registration before Christmas. Instructor said processing is taking 18-20 days.

*In the mail back to me 2/8/12

Welcome. If you don't already know your drivers license number without looking at it, I assure you that you will by the end of the week. ;-)

Welcome! :anamatedbanana
I've quickly come to realize that there's no rhythm or reason to how fast applications are getting processed. The range seems to be anywhere from 4-8 weeks. I hope your instructors timeline is more accurate...that would be less waiting for me! Lol May the CHL gods smile down on you!

Thanks for the welcome all.

Is it too early to start checking with the state for status updates? ;-)

Heh.... it'd be nice. 7 to 10 days for anything to appear on the web site.

Welcome to the forum.

It's never to early and you might as well start looking, just because you know you want too! :smilelol5: As others have said, If you don't know your DL# by heart yet, you will soon. Honestly, unless you've got some kind of blemish on your record the wait does seem to be in the 20-30 day range based on other's posting. Best of luck for a speedy return.

gremlinschl. It's hit or miss like they say. I mailed mine on the 9th, it was signed for on the 11th and my status still says
"Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page."
So even though i know they have it, no update on the site yet.

I hear ya...trying not to let the lost package fear set it. Hoping it will update by Friday...if not maybe call just to see if they received it? ?? Don't want to be that guy, but once I see an update I'll feel better. I know nothing it my background will flag, just want that warm and fuzzy that they received it.

Mine took about 2 weeks before anything updated online. It's painful waiting....just hang in there. I am on week 7 of waiting.... :cryin but hopefully yours will move along faster!
