Are you tracking all out of pocket expenses? Would be interesting for someone to actually calculate all expenses incurred during the process. Everything from state fees and state required items to purchase of carry firearm, practice and carry ammo, range fees during practice prior to class, fuel consumed going to range...

Wish I had done it. If nothing else to be able to say at the end, "ability to protect yourself and your family? Priceless!"

Congrats on you and your wife getting your CHLs.

I recently bought a Sig P238... but time will tell what she wants to carry.

Congrats on both of you getting your CHLs. Texas will completely come out of years of drought before I'm able to convince my wife to participate. "rlol"

Wait until it becomes a hobby. The cost of ammo alone for 2 people is enough to need a third job! :)

But I wouldn't trade it for a thing.

Updated....

She and I took our CHL Course this passed Saturday.
I fired my Sig P238... she used a "Rent" XD9 Compact.

We learned more about why we love living in Texas.

Shooting Proficiency - Passed
Written Test - Passed

I think it's awesome y'all are getting your CHL's as a team. It may be twice as much money but the payoff of having a dedicated and lifelong partner will pay twice the dividends.

super8neon - I'm right there with ya! My husband and I are doing our CHL's together, but we're also taking the baby girl (teenager) out to shoot with us on a fairly regular basis now. It's expensive, but priceless! :fire

Our son turns 4 in July... so we've got just a short while before we introduce him to the range.
