For those tracking closely...

Mailed Package 2/8
Fingerprints completed 2/8
Background under review since 2/27
Background Complete / Manufacturing 4/8 (Could have been a few days before I hadn't been checking everyday)
Mailed 4/11
Received: 4/15

Good Luck tracking the progress through the system and trying to nail down a timeline. I believe the system flows in "batches" and prior background checks have no bearing. I've held a Military Clearance for 20 years and mine seemed to take no longer or no less than most others. The biggest factor may be the "person" who is assigned your case. Some are slow, some are fast as with all humans.

This is a great forum and I appreciated reading some of the postings.

Cheers!

Well my Wife's app has officially been with DPS over 60 days now and no new updates since BG. So much for the 60 day thing. I know they are busy but..oh well.

As an update: It has now been 70 days since I mailed in all of the required materials (~39 days in BG).

I called yesterday, just to make sure they weren't waiting on anything and was told that they were not. Rather, she just repeated the party line - 4 to 6 weeks to enter it into the system and 60 days from that point. I'm trying to be patient, but this seems ridiculous.
1/29 - Submitted online application
2/4 - Fingerprinted
2/5 - finished CHL class
2/6 - mailed packet of all materials to DPS
3/9 - application acknowledged; fingerprints & background pending

I was told by DPS that it is NOT a first come first serve basis. Really?

People on this forum who submitted their docs 2 weeks after me are getting updates and in BG check, while its day 48 for me and Ive yet to have my application entered into the system.

Oh yeah...it seems totally random...imagine what the process will be to see a doctor after our healthcare is socialized!

Hello euc,

I wanted to let you know that you are not alone. My status changed to mail on 4-11-2013 also and I have been watching the mailbox as well as your post. Nothing is worse than 'knowing' it is in the mailbox only to find something for everyone else in the household. Like a kid who cant wait for Christmas, receiving that plastic will be an exciting moment.
