Let the waiting begin.

#1

Post by greenbeer »

Hey folks I'm Bill. Started the process on Tuesday night, and I'm already feeling impatient. Between a 24 hour wait to schedule my prints(scheduled today for the 16th) and 48 hours just to be able to upload the CHL-100 (which I'm still not quite there), it looks like it's going to be a long few weeks. Anyone gotten their plastic quicker than usual lately? I guess in the mean time I'll just bum around here and live vicariously through others.

About 6 weeks is what I'm hearing but a couple of students have told me they received their plastic in just under 4 weeks...for what it's worth.

Am waiting as well. My countdown began once I completed all of the requirements and received the confirmation email from DPS that they received my documents on 09/02/2015.

From the reading I have done in this forum is appears that the current time frame is right around 2-3 weeks for uncomplicated submissions. I hope that remains true which would put me close to being next! :hurry:

I received mine in less than 30 days with a holiday weekend. Pretty quick.

The wait is next to impossible with website checks and running to the mailbox.

Thanks for the timelines guys. I did realize that i didn't have to wait to submit my CHL-100. I'm kinda bad about reading all the instructions. So I submitted that today. Now just have to wait till Wednesday to get my prints done. Hopefully it won't take too long after that.

My wait was about 45 days, because something got messed up with my paperwork. I had to call them around day 30 and they said that something got lost. Escalated it to a supervisor, and I got the card quickly after that. Just keep checking the page!

Just a quick update. Got my email confirming the receipt of my CHL-100 on Monday. Had my prints taken today. Now it's out of my hands and in the states. Anyone know when the state is going to change the plastic from CHL to LTC?

The agony of waiting was too much. After yet another disappointing visit to my mailbox I decided to call DPS. With no actual hold time other then listening to various options I was connected to a nice lady. I asked her as politely as I could; "that I would just like to check on my status of my CHL and to make sure that all of my documents were received" She asked me for my TXDL# which I provided and then told me that my CHL was sent to printing today (then corrected herself) and said yesterday! She went on to say that I should have it in 7-10 days. I thanked her and ended the call.

For those (I have seen a couple) with a similar timeline here is mine once again.

08/17/2015: Completed online application
08/29/2015: Completed CHL class
08/29/2015: Fingerprints done
08/29/2015: Submitted CHL-100, DD-214, and checklist online
09/01/2015: Received confirmation email that documents received
09/24/2015: DPS website shows status the same as from day one
09/24/2015: DPS representative says CHL to printing yesterday

Although there is still some waiting that remains, I am very glad that the wondering is now over.

Thank you all for being here!
