Delayed Processing

#1

Post by texasrange »

Timeline as follows:
Submitted Application on 10/10/18
Submitted Proof of Taking Class and Proficiency on 10/11/18
Fingerprints on 10/12/18
They received everything completely on 10/13/18, per my inquire on 10/20/18
Then nothing.
I call on 11/5/18 only to find out that they only had begun to process my application that very morning.
So it took them 18 days to begin processing my application.
They said check back in a few weeks.
My history:
I was charged with a Class A unlawful carry in 2016 that was immediately dismissed before trial, here in Travis County.
I have had PLENTY of traffic citations. PLENTY.
I am 24 years old.
I really hope that they do not have to send my mail asking for court documents that prove that my case was dismissed. I can very easily find the decision online. Is it something that I should send to them?
Thanks, Turner

I ended up calling my house rep. Received a call the same day from DPS saying that they went ahead and processed my application and that I would receive my license within 7-10 days.
