Long renewal wait?

#1

Post by RDT806 »

I paid and submitted on 2/18. My fingerprints and background have shown in review since. I called and they said fingerprints accepted and no additional paperwork needed.

Has anyone else had this kind of wait for a renewal? Seems long compared to the times I'm seeing on here.

That is strange. I submitted my renewal 2/13/19 and had my new license in hand on 2/26/19.

That's what I was thinking. I've talked to two guys I know and there's took 43 days. But the vast majority of people seem to be much quicker. Shouldn't be any issues but can't help but worry a little. The lady I talked to said it could take from 45-60 days. I thought there was a statute that said they had 45 days to issue a renewal and 60 to issue a new LTC.

Dang that was 60 days in? That's crazy. I may have to do the same if it doesn't clear this week. It's taken longer than my initial CHL 5 years ago. That's ridiculous. I shouldn't have to wait this long to exercise a right I've already been given in my opinion.

Yeah I would definitely contact your rep. Mine took 11 days total, from submission to plastic in hand.

Well I did wait too long. I submitted 5 days before. And no definitely not a common name.

Mrs. Oldgringo went 160 days because some pencil-neck, DPS dork wouldn't accept the four different submitted fingerprints (over 160days) on her first application. A call to her State Senator got her first CHL in less than a week. This was some 12 years ago.

We're both now carrying our third CHL licenses. Carry on!

That seems to be how most of them are going. Not sure why it takes longer for some of us .
