Wife Sick with Cancer.

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Buck up, Deltaboy!

My youngest son was killed on 11/21/81 at the age of 12 when he apparently stepped into the path of an automobile on his way home from school. He would have turned 50 on the 4th of July this year. His mother, my wife of 20 years, told me that she wanted a divorce on about the second anniverasary of Patrick's death. There was nothing I could do or say that would dissuade her, she wanted free. She went her way, I went mine. This past week, my new wife, Mrs. Oldgringo, and I observed our 35th anniversary. Patrick's mother chose not to remarry, we're friends (?) on FB.

The point is: life goes on! We can't bring back the dead, we can't unsee the seen nor can we unhear the heard. Life goes on! Get a grip, Deltaboy, accept the happenings and get on with your life. That is what your wife would want you to do, isn't it?

When people go through hard times, those of us that are not currently in the storms of life want to say words of encouragement but I personally never have any idea of how and what to say. Who am I to tell the father of three young children at my church who lost his wife to cancer days ago to hang in there & time will heal & God has a plan. All I do is say I love ya brother & hug the fella. I want to remind him of scriptures & remind him of the love we as a church have for him, but who am I, a person that hasn’t felt his pain or suffered as he. One recent Sunday evening during church, this fella, who’s not a trained bible scholar or a great orator or even an extrovert, but just a layman, a parishioner, preached the Word from his heart as I’ve never heard a man preach before; with such passion & dependence on God. So to you deltaboy, a person I don’t know, but I just want to tell you that i care about your troubles but I have to say thankfully I haven’t experienced your troubles.

Wife had BPPV (Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo) which gave her fits occasionally. Vertigo so bad she would become nauseated. Mostly in the morning upon rising. It came and went with no predictability.
