Prayers needed--UPDATE

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Prayers needed--UPDATE

#1

Post by RPBrown »

I rarely ask for prayers for myself but feel I must this time.
I am going in on Monday to have biopsies done on my prostate. Doc found something he didn't like during normal exams and PSA is very high. I know I am in good hands no mater the outcome but a few prayers would help for sure.
Also pray for my wife as she is taking this very hard.
Thanks in advance

RPBrown, you're in my prayers this morning. I know only too well how scary this can be.

By way of encouragement...... Like you, I've dealt with BPH for a number of years, and I had a good scare about 7 years ago. During a regular annual exam, my urologist found a growth on my prostate, and my PSA was elevated also......not sky high, but significantly higher than it ought to be. It scared the bejabbers out of me. I was also experiencing frequent UTIs during this period. Rather than a biopsy, my doctor did an ultrasound exam (not exactly fun either, but at least pain free....relatively), and it turned out that I have a large calcified nodule on my prostate. The elevated PSA was the result of having had a series of UTIs. A course of antibiotics, a change in daily medication, and a strong brand of saw-palmetto supplements later, and the PSA was down to normal. The nodule is not going away, but neither is it a problem any longer either. Whereas I used to experience a ghastly UTI every couple of months, I have only had 2 or 3 in the last 7 years. Today I just take my regular daily Flomax, and I'm good to go.

God willing, your problem will be nothing more severe than that. I will continue to pray for you.

you may remember my husband had prostate cancer at 53. He just turned 56.
I had a really hard time with it too. I will tell you the guys here helped me. And the prayers of many.
If they find cancer, call MDAnderson, and try to get in with Dr Ward. He is great! His nurse is wonderful, the whole clinic is incredible. My husband was just released from their clinic and sent over to "Survival" (or something like that)!

If you or your wife have any questions at all PM me. I can give you my number, my husband's number and we'll talk with ya'll.

Meanwhile, we'll be praying for you. I remember that biopsy. ugg.
