I didn't see this posted elsewhere. Apology if it's a duplicate.

Evidently former First Lady and Houstonian Barbara Bush's health continues to decline and she and the family have turned down further medical treatment. The focus now will be to keep her as comfortable as possible.

She was a great First Lady and continued to be a example and to do good work afterward. Particularly with her long time passion, the literacy initiative. My heartfelt prayers for Mrs. Bush and all of her family.

I'm very sorry to hear of this.

She was one of our very best First Ladies.

Mrs. Bush passed away yesterday evening, April 17. Nice to see some extended local news coverage here in Houston. Extra prayers now for Bush 41, George H.W. His health has had lapses the past couple of years, more so than Barbara's or at least more publicly, and the woman who he had known for 76 years and his wife of 72 has died. He may decide it's his time and leave us soon also.

Barbara Bush had a lot of graciousness and dignity.

I suspect the whole family, whatever you think of their politics, are pretty friendly in person. Somewhere I've got pictures of Laura Bush holding my youngest son in her lap at the HIllsboro Public Library, where she was promoting child literacy.
