Spinal Meningitis

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Spinal Meningitis

#1

Post by Oldgringo » Thu Jun 21, 2018 8:28 am

After learning Lumbar Injections weren't helping and Neurosurgery wasn't an option, we opted for a Spinal Cord Stimulator trial. Wires inserted Friday, felt great Saturday morning, Wound started leaking around noon on Saturday GREAT PAIN Sunday. Wires removed Monday, mowed Monday afternoon. Tuesday, upon awakening, I was experiencing debilitating neck and head pain- the worst pain in 76 years and could hardly walk.

The spinal fluid drainage and resultant infection resulted in Spinal Meningitis. With a little luck and a lot of prayers, I may be released in 2-3 weeks from our local non 30.07,.07 posted hospital.

OG, so sorry to hear about your illness. That just bites. I have helped care for meningitis patients before, and the headaches are just crushing. I am praying for you right now.

We will be praying fervently for you. This happens to me about four years ago, but with a pain pump. I had the worse headache a man could have. Hang in there.

I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through!

My wife had a stimulator implanted at one time, but fortunately she didn't run into the complications you did.

You're in my prayers.
