Humerous incident at TTS wen night match last night...

We were shooting a stage where we stood behind a barrel and shot over it. The barrel was standard plastic barrel with a pair of 3 inch (I think) openings with one missing the screw in plug. I hit slide lock, dump the mag, slap in new and finnish stage. Afterwards can NOT find my mag anywhere. Sure enough it was inside the barrel. Now if the COF (Course Of Fire) description had required I put the spent mag in barrel, I bet it would have took me 5 seconds using my hand and looking at it.

Was joking around about special patch or pin for this new skill when someone else did it again.

I've seen it happen twice. It hasn't happened to me yet though. (knocks on wood).
We tape the openings on all barrels now.
I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961

Wierd things seem to happen to me too at Thunder. At one match, when I dropped an empty mag, it stood straight up on the ground. It happened three times if I recall at the same match. I don't shoot very often at Thunder. It has never happened at any of the matches at PSC.

Any crop circles appear near that range? ;-)

I think nearly all the plastic barrels we use for IDPA have little square doors cut near the bottoms.
Lots of folks use them as tables. So, pocket knives, car keys, cellphones, ,,,

Luckily Donna (CompVest on this board) has tiny little hands.
