HB1815 doesn't have a Senate companion bill. HB1815 will be it.

Both sections do apply, but having a gun in your car simply isn't illegal any longer, if HB1815 passes. Not even Rosenthal can twist this one!

Wow, so after all this time of only being able to carry a loaded rifle or shotgun in the passenger seat, I'll finally be able to toss a real weapon like a baseball bat in there?

I feel so empowered.

Another Urban Legelnd. Baseball bats are not clubs by just having one in your car.

In Chicago, a club is anything that the officer on the scene wants to be a club. People got arrested for having a hammer without nails or other tools. Or at least it was that way when I lived there.

The circumstances had to be suspicious, though. Six kids riding around in a car with baseball bats at 2 a.m. are probably not on their way home from a game.

A lot of the urban legends that people pick up on the Internet are really the way things are in other places.

I'll keep that in mind if I ever lose it and go to Chicago.

I am referring to Texas law.

Did my basic north of there, and then an interminable amount of time in "A" school. Years later went to live southwest of there, and then finally moved to TX.

Sure am glad to be back and I ain't leaving again.

I also did my basic, "A" school, and then I got stuck with "C" school in great lakes. A miserable 2 years up there. I was so glad when I was Long Beach bound.

Anyone know what's going on with this one. The on-line site for bill status shows: Last Action: 05/23/2007 S Placed on local & uncontested calendar

How can the last action be tomorrow, or is that the last date action can occur or ????. Any hope this will pass. This is a good one!!!
