Checking in from East Dallas

#1

Post by 08concours14 »

I'm not new to CHL, been licensed since Aug 2000, but I'm new to this forum. I took my renewal class last Saturday at Texas Handgun Academy and the instructor (Gary L.) mentioned this site. I've been dinking around here everyday since and have found it to be really awesome, more that I would have expected. Keep it going and I'm looking forward to getting to know more about other members and sharing information concerning concealed carry.

Welcome to the forum, neighbor!

Lots of gun talk here and everyone's usually pretty civil, even when
disagreeing.

Thanks, Backwoods.

I'm curious, where did you take your class and does your handle possibly mean that you're not originally from the DFW area? I've been here for about 10 years now, and having worked in a past life in the timber industry, backwoods has a real tangible meaning for me. My handle refers to my motorcycle, an '08 Kawasaki Concours 14.
As far as classes go, I've used the DFW Gunrange and Texas Handgun Academy.
Anyhow, be safe and keep an eye peeled (especially for those pesky 30.06 signs!!)
