My Wally Walk

#1

Post by JJVP »

Finally got my CHL today after 6 months of waiting. Had to go to Walmart to pick up a few things, so I figure I would put the new CHL to good use. Holstered my Taurus Millenium Pro PT111 and headed to Walmart. Figured I would be nervous but was surprised how calm and relaxed I was. First stop, the sports counter where I bought a couple of boxes of 9 mm. Continued on with my shopping and walked around for about 45 minutes after I finished shopping with no problems. A lot easier and relaxed that I imagined. Even took a few photos with my cell phone. Was more nervous while taking the photos than with the fact I was carrying. Here are a few photos I took during my "adventure"

That is encouraging that they still have 9mm....now if they would only get .380 I would be happy.

I decided today to try to conceal my Glock, even though my good lady said it couldn't be done, she didn't even notice! Of course this was just inside the house....for now.

I expect it to feel really strange when I get to 'cross the threshold' with it hidden.

Once again congrats and thanks for sharing your experience.

Very correct about being more nervous about the pics than carrying. I hear WM dont like folks taking Pics in the stores.

Welcome aboared & to carry.

Don Hume PCCH. Just realized I took a pic of my left side. My holster was on my right hip. Like I said, I was more nervous about the pics than anything else.

That's funny.

I did something similar, but maybe worse when I was 18y. My motorcycle was stolen off the Navy base I was stationed at and when I was makign the report they asked if I had any pictures. The officer asked what the text was on the engine case in the picture was and I told him "Suzuki." I told him that I thought it said, "1200cc" on the other side and then flipped the picture over to look. Dooh!!! I hope he didn't see that.

Anyway, I too noticed that he was able to find two boxes 9mm. Good job.

Congrats on your plastic's arrival, your initial Wally Walk, AND finding ammo!

Before I knew about the Wally Walk, my first carry after getting my plastic was
into a junkyard while I was looking for tires. I thought all eyes were on my own
PT-111 (non-Pro), hiding in an IWB holster under my large T-shirt.

Since then I've realized that the rest of the world does not spend their thoughts
on trying to "make" CHL's bulges.

Very good wally walk for me this morning. Different guy at sporting goods counter than usual. Look and see 9mm and ask for some. He says how many and I reply how many you got? He says 4. I say, Can I have 4. He says OK. Sure, I'll take 4. Ringed me up and off I went!! :clapping:

Funny, when I asked if they had 9mm he looked and he also said he had 4. I only took 2. Wanted to leave some for someone else. Maybe they only bring 4 at a time.
