Girlfriend getting her CHL

#1

Post by Jago668 »

Figured I would post for her since she pretty much never gets online. Girlfriend decided to get her CHL. She is taking the course this Saturday. This was no prompting from me, all I did was take her to the range once so she could be familiar with the pistol I carry. As a just in case measure. We've gone several times since and she decided to start carrying. Looking like a Springfield XD Mod 2 9mm. Anyways, figured I would let everyone know we'll soon have another conceal carry out there with us.

That is awesome!

I believe a lot of people are beginning to realize that the world we live in isn't as safe as it once was and are taking steps to defend themselves.

I applaud her decision.:clapping:

Very good! Some of the gals really enjoy range time especially with friends or significant others so encourage her to keep it up.

Please encourage her to practice and then practice some more.

As I'm sure you know, many get their CHL and don't keep up their shooting skills.

Jago668, continue to encourage your SO on this path. It is comforting to know that the folks we care about have the tools (mental, physical and force multipliers) to take care of themselves -- and help watch our back. My advice would be to encourage her to recognize further training as a priority to spend some time/money on. Women, being the nurturers they are, sometimes have a hard time dedicating time and money to what they consider selfish. Let her know that her life and safety are not things she should ever consider as "selfish". In that vein, there are many opportunities, including all female shooting clubs/events like A Girl and a Gun, Well-Armed Woman, Women on the Draw, etc...

Thanks all for the cheers and way to gos. Like I said she doesn't get online much, so don't know if she will become a member, but I plan on showing her this thread at least. Once she gets her plastic, and settles on her carry gun and method; going to see if we can't both get some training. I shoot ok, but no reason not to. Plus she is more likely to go if I do as well.

Maybe futile if she spends little time online, but for completeness I need to mention http://www.corneredcat.com/ - a resource she might find valuable.
