Reusing original fingerprints

#1

Post by RSX11 »

I just summitted my renewal request for my LTC.

I got my CHL the first year it was available in Texas, so my fingerprints were done old school, on a fingerprint card. I've renewed several times since then, and they've always reused the originals.

I was wondering - has anyone here ever had their fingerprints rejected, and been required to submit the newfangled electronic ones, AFTER they were accepted for re use on previous renewals?

I'm wondering how likely it is I'll have to go and get mine re-done.

It’s very rare, but on occasion some have to do that.

Yah, my originals passed muster again I'm print pending now. I'm surprised every time they reuse my originals They were of low quality, due to the skin on my fingers being chewed up from a lot of car work I'd been doing the week I got them rolled.

They've probably been converted over to digital anyway so no degredation.

Funny you would post this, I just barely started my renewal process.

When I first did prints at my local PD, they scanned me using the digital image machine, then actually printed out a fingerprint card to send to DPS. What they told me was that the digital copy they had on their system would auto delete after 30 days. <wink wink> #dontbelieveit

Anyways... 2(?) renewals later and I have not been asked for any additional fingerprints. I'm sure I just jinxed myself for next time though.

Best I can count I just renewed my 6th time. I know I was pretty close to the start getting mine. After digital came in and they said I would have to go get them done that way if mine did not meet standards I guess they are still good on the cards. In '27 I hope I don't have to getEM redone.
I will be 72 on my Bday when old expires and new takes over.
