Got mine in the mail today - 97 days after applying and just 10 days after asking the Governor and my State Senator for assistance.

Congratulations for your CHL! I hope you find your cow.
I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.

Fingerprints Rejected: 08/10/10
Fingerprints Redone: 08/11/10
License Pending Printing: 08/11/10

In checking with DPS, background check was completed and license sent for printing 08/09/10. Received email on 08/10/10 from L-1 that second fingerprints were rejected. How can DPS complete background check and send license for printing before fingerprints come back rejected a second time? Well, license has not been printed yet. 43 days and counting. Just hope the 3rd set of prints are accepted. :txflag:
I thought they could only reject your prints once? From what I've heard if the second set of prints are no good they just do a more detailed background check. At least, that's what I was told when I went to have them redone, as my fingerprints are as good as not having any.

Jay

The lady that took my prints for the second time at L-1 said fingerprints could be rejected up to 5 times. That means you could have to send them in 6 times. After that, according to this L-1 technician, they push the application on through. Not sure what that means, more background check or what.

The Final Saga

3rd set of fingerprints rec'd by DPS under review: 08/17/10
CHL Issued: 10/15/10
CHL Mailed: 10/20/10
CHL Received: 10/22/10 :thewave

113 days from the time everything was mailed to DPS to receipt of CHL. DPS waited 59 days from the time they acknowledged receipt of my 3rd fingerprints to issue CHL. This after background check had originally been completed 08/09/10, and after sending Governor Perry an email 2 days before issuance of CHL, and contacting my State Representative 2 weeks earlier. I get the feeling the DPS sits on some applications, and moves others right along. Don't want to sound paranoid, just frustrated due to an extraordinarily long wait. But, that's all irrelevant now. I have it, and that's all that matters. Thanks for letting me vent. :banghead:

Good luck to all those still waiting.

Peace, out!

Ron

A guy in the waiting room got his yesterday in the mail. 33 days mailbox to mailbox. I cringe to think about what people had to go through in the past.

This is for my youngest daughter whose CHL class I taught.

Fee paid with
application online 10-08-2010
Class completed 10-10-2010
Prints transmitted 10-14-2010
Paperwork hand
delivered 10-15-2010
CHL in hand 11-05-2010

21 days from hand delivery of paperwork to CHL delivery in mail.

Interestingly, my middle daughter submitted her paperwork in early January, 2010 and her turnaround time was also 21 days.

Good job, DPS

Edited to correct date of CHL in hand.

Actually, she received her license 3 days before submitting the online ap. (According to your dates!)
