sep 1 is this friday! l I recently attended a knife fighting 101 with fort worth combatives and Robert told me to carry the biggest knife you can carry comfortably. (is there such a thing?). looking around youtube i've narrowed it down to between 6-7 inches. im leaning towards the coldsteel voyager XL. let me see your big bad knives!

Great. Like gun collection was not expensive enough. Now I'll have to justify knife purchases...TexasKnifeTrader dot com?

I guess I will carry my Kershaw Blur. I have been very comfortable with it for the last few years so why change?

I guess I'll just continue to carry my 3.5" Uncle Henry. Got it sharpened free at Cabela's yesterday.

Nothing new for me, I will still carry my two case pocket knives, and my Buck Vantage all under 4".

I will still have my ESEE 5, (5" blade) and my Ontario SP-8 (12" BLADE) in my truck, as part of my GHB. Carrying any extra weight to have a big blade isn't practical for me. Besides, Friday, I will be dove hunting, so if I run into any major issues, I will have my shotgun and my EDC M&P 9.

While there will be a few folks, who will take advantage of the new freedom, to carry larger knives, I don't expect it to be any more widespread than OC has been. JMHO

Hmmm. I have a bayonet, M1905, that my father brought home after WWII. 16 inches. Only problem is that it's the Krag hanger and the upper half is missing.

I'll continue to carry my Esee 3... Btw does anyone here make or know anyone who makes leather knife sheaths? I would like to maybe have one made so I could scout carry it on my belt instead of the front pocket

There is this company, but they are pretty pricey:

I installed a large TEK-LOK on my ESEE 5 sheath, and carry it scout style, its much cheaper than a leather sheath, and I can still attach it to MOLLE webbing, or change positions, if I want to carry it differently. YMMV

Jusme - I love their work - but for what I'd want from them, it'd cost more than double the knife itself

And I've considered getting the Tek-lok, but more for attaching it to my backpack, might have to consider trying it.

Mine works great, I have carried it on long trail hikes with my son's Boy Scout troop, and it doesn't shift around. The ESEE kydex sheath, has holes, already set at the correct spacing to mount it. The TEK-LOK can be adjusted to fit up to a 2" belt. I can't remember what I paid, but it was not very expensive.

Same 3.5inch Gerber assisted opening folder I've carried since last December. My belt is already filled with M&P 5 inch, spare mags, and first aid.

Gerber Guardian I, clipped inside the boot. I bought it and a Guardian II decades ago and now I can carry it legally. I'd carry the Guardian II, but it doesn't have a boot clip sheath.
