Moved out of Texas

#1

Post by Muttley »

My job has taken me out of Texas and to South Carolina. My question is can I keep and renew my Texas CHL while having a SC address and if I can do this are there reasons why I should renew my Texas CHL while also having a SC CHL?
Thx

Change to a non-resident license TX LTC if you’re going to change your address/drivers license to SC. You need to look at SC laws to determine if there’s any benefit to getting a license there.

Hopefully your job will return you to Texas at some point and you can convert back to resident license.

Best of luck to you there!

Hey! I think I applied for that job! I wondered who got it. :eek6

Seriously, I really did apply to a couple over there.

Congrats on the job and best of luck! :thumbs2:

My sincere condolences on having to leave the great State of Texas. Wish you well, and I know you will hurry back if you can.

I agree that you will need to change your license to a non-resident. Even if you get a SC resident license, you might want to keep the Texas one just for bragging rights!
Do what you say you're gonna do.
