Sounds like a very good resolution to a bad situation. The only thing I might have done differently is press charges to add another strike to his list. I'd feel pretty crappy if down the road he beat someone else to death and I hadn't done my part in preventative maintenance. Those types become more emboldened every time they get away with their escalated behavior.

Let's see. I'm at work, and have a scheduling disagreement with my boss, and she summons a violent ex-con (presumably NOT employed by the business) to deal with me. Sounds like a really juicy employment lawsuit, in addition to the criminal charges I would have filed.
