Mods, if this is the wrong place please move it.
My bride is going to the Pinners conference at KBH this weekend. Does anyone know if they are posting it. Not real fond of her being in Downtown Dallas unarmed.

Re: Kay Bailey Hutchinson convention center
I was recently at the NRA Personal Protection Expo. What I don't understand is how they have a sign posted basically saying the "Unlicensed Carry on these premises is prohibited".
It's not a 30.06
It's not a 30.07
It's not a TABC sign (they don't sell alcohol for NOT on premises consumption - i.e. Grocery Store, Package Store, Liquor Store).
It's not a 51% sign.
So what is this sign and how is it posted legally?
Don't get it. Why do they need any sign?

Re: Kay Bailey Hutchinson convention center
If they sell alcohol at all they are required to post those signs. It only applies to anyone carrying without a license. Which is redundant, since it is already statutorily prohibited. It may just be a panacea to uninformed lefties who believe it prohibits all guns.extremist wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 6:55 pm I was recently at the NRA Personal Protection Expo. This discussion was for the convention center. However, as I understand it, a particular event can still post, hence the gun show signs. That is what she is wanting to know.Grayling813 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 5:51 pm Recently discussed

Since I am taking her, if they are posted she can give it to me to bring home

Re: Kay Bailey Hutchinson convention center
As far as I know, the KBH center is owned by the city of Dallas and managed by Spectra. According to our state attorney general's opinion in this sort of problem, anyone who leases the center can post 30.06/30.07 since nothing in the law prevents them from doing so. However, the signs would not have any force of law for licensed gun owners. Same situation with the Texas State Fair and Fort Worth Zoo.
Again, this is the AG's opinion and has not yet been tested in a court of law.

If any of you are going to this conference/show, it is not posted.
Good thing too, lots of strange people in downtown Dallas after dark.
Sitting here waiting for the bride to come out and really watching a show
