Yesterday, I went to my first hunting/scouting for deers. Since, it was my first visit to Caddo, I decided to be there by 11:00 AM. In short, there I saw couple hunters camping/hunting. 2hrs later and visiting 2 sites, I saw nothing but a huge rabbit the size of small dog. The rabbit was so big he didn't have the interest to run away, just sat few yards away starring at me. As per deer, I saw nothing interesting other than a fresh deer tracks on wet trail.
In couple square miles, I saw no deer, nor heard any shots. The wetlands were so quiet.
Now the questions:
what is best time to be there? What are chances to spot a deer in the national Caddo?

Re: Caddo national wetlands
All things being equal, the best time to spot any wild game anywhere is usually at first and last light; i.e., dawn and dusk.
Good luck and keep your eyes peeled.

That would be a Swamp Rabbit, they do get big.
