not much bacon on a wild hog but plenty of backstraps and hinquarters! coyotes and buzzards get the rest.

Speaking from personal experience you leave the bacon on the ribs and smokem.not much bacon on a wild hog but

I'm no fan of wild hogs (kill 'em all, eat all you can), but I'm no fan of hog-doggin either. Kill clean, kill humane. Buncha dogs on a hog is no different from Michael Vick and dogs on dogs.

You're free to give your opinion.Bullwhip wrote:I'm no fan of wild hogs (kill 'em all, eat all you can), but I'm no fan of hog-doggin either. Kill clean, kill humane. Buncha dogs on a hog is no different from Michael Vick and dogs on dogs.
I don't see it that way. Hogs are free roaming and not in an arena. I don't think Vick ate the dogs either.

Re: some of the hogs we caught this year (some bloody pics)
Alot of the hogs i catch are carrying bullets from hunters, helicopters and the like. when I kill a hog with a knife, it is dead before i get the knife out. We also catch and tie a large portion of our hogs to be sold at the buyer stations. I think you are talking about something you dont know about. I think you have a misconception of how hogs are caught with dogs. Im not saying that all hog doggers go about it right. but to me it is the ultimate partnership between a man and a dog. My bay dogs do just that, they find and bay the hog causing it no harm. and I never send a catch dog into anything im not willing to follow him into.
