I'm glad they lost. They shouldn't have been there at all. Disrespectful trash.

:iagree: Some have said that those of us who are glad about the loss are not respecting our country. How can we be disrespecting our country when the athletes involved have said that they are not representing it.?

No medals for the US on the first day at Summer Olympics. Hasn’t happened since 1972.

TV viewership lowest in 33 years.

When your competing for a country you don’t love, do you compete as hard?

I’m betting that the lowest viewership in 33 years is because the viewing public is fed up with wokeness. What was happening 36 years ago? The 1984 summer games which were boycotted by 14 Eastern Bloc countries, in response to the US-led boycott of the 1980 Moscow games in protest of the USSR's invasion of Afghanistan.

Folks are just REALLY tired of politics being injected into sports. Sports are supposed to be entertaining. The wokies seem to have forgotten that principle. They’re taking the fun out of sports, and when it’s not fun anymore, people turn to something else for entertainment.

I've been watching, and I'n glad to see a every athlete so far with their hand over their heart as the anthem played. One swimmer had tears in his eyes as the anthem played. I think most of them love the country they represent. The MSM just gives uneven coverage to the cowardly @$$ hats who play under our flag without respecting it.

Watched an interview with Mary Carolynn Tucker who earned 6th place in the women's 10m air rifle. She said that only 30 universities (out of ~1,450 accredited 4-year universities) have rifle teams and she got into competitive rifle by watching youtube.

History shows that US doesn't do well in events like 10 meter air pistol

It's a national scandal that our Olympic shooting athletes are not more supported. I guess the anti-gunner corporations don't want to contribute a dime. We donate to USA Shooting to do what we can to help.

It's really cool that in-spite of all that Shaner just got the Gold:

The announcers don't even seem to know what to talk about with the archery and shooting events. I don't think I'd know the airgun shooting distance if it wasn't part of the event title! :biggrinjester:

:iagree: Breaks my heart to root against the USA, but in this case, I hope they go zero for the next 50 games and have to fold the team. And then maybe when it's rebuilt, people will appreciate playing for their country.

THey forget- we don't pay them to spread their political views... they are simply entertainment, being paid to play a sport they claim to love. We buy the sport, not the political vomit.

I watched this video shortly after it was posted. Great explanation. Amazing (tongue buried deep in cheek) I never saw him provide commentary on MSM :tiphat:

Rapinoe is unbelievably selfish. Sure, it's easy to spew that kind of hatred of your country while playing for it, when you have lots of high-paying endorsements and sponsorships. What about all the other USA Soccer women that are not getting sponsorships because potential sponsors want nothing to do with the anti-American woke cow excrement?

Womens soccer was poised for explosive growth following Team USA's Gold medal in 2016. Then Rapinoe and others on the team disparaged America and the Flag and..... Good feeling gone. How much has that cost other women who aspired to play soccer as a career?

Simone Biles has withdrawn from team competition. Such a shame. Seemed like a truly wonderful young woman. Not sure what is wrong, sounds like the pressure to succeed coming to the Olympics as a star has gotten to her. Hope she can continue in her individual competition.
