DOJ to change definition of a firearm

President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) issued a proposed change to the legal definitions of “firearms” on Friday in an effort to subject more firearms parts to background checks and serial number tracking. It would be the first update to the “firearms” definition since 1968.

So basically any part of a firearm will constitute being a firearm!
Government, like fire is a dangerous servant and a fearful master
If you ain't paranoid you ain't paying attention
Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war let it begin here- John Parker

"commonsense'....
Their line of thinking shows a complete lack of ANY common sense. Doing what they propose would lead to calling a spring a firearm.
My junk box of parts from when I worked as a mechanic would be considered 'constructive possession".

Their stupid overflows.

So I could need between 49 and 53 BG checks if build my next 1911!?!?!?! (depending on model)

That sounds useful, constitutional and efficient!

They would run into a lot of problems changing the definition substantially. Not going to be a simple thing to do. Probably a pipe dream.

Speaking of pipe ... will plumbers need a background check for each porcelain appliance they connect with a pipe or just one per house?

I believe I read that this is a functional .410 shotgun from pipe easily found on the Internet
For less than $35 in pipe fittings, you can complete the Pop-A 410 kit and have a single-shot shotgun.

Would be called a “zip gun” in the penitentiary.

All one needs is 2 pipes, 1 end cap, a bb and some 2 part epoxy to build a functioning shot gun.
