Bigotry against Palestinians spikes across the US.
Post 9/11, there was the beginning of a similar backlash against Muslims. But what exacerbated it and raised it to a fever pitch was too many people vocally defending Islam INSTEAD OF criticizing the terrorists who pulled off the attack, supposedly inspired by Islam. Instead of a majority of Muslims honestly admitting that there exist at least SOME Muslims who hold views that are toxic to rest of modern society, we were lectured about Islam being a religion of peace…when MOST EVIDENTLY there existed a faction that were murderous terrorists.

Admitting that some subset of the thing that you cherish and hold dear is infected with evil is a very difficult thing. Cristians of all stripes have been known to react this way when Christianity is criticized by non-believers for the excesses of the medieval Catholic Church. That is why post 9/11, many Muslims were unable to publicly admit that at least SOME Muslims were evil.

And that is what is happening today with the current Israeli/Palestinian conflict. There is absolutely no questioning the FACT that HAMAS initiated this attack, and that they did so not only with no regard for how many Israelis they killed—in fact, the goal was to kill as many civilians as possible…it’s what terrorists do—but also with no regard for the Palestinian noncombatants that would certainly be killed in an Israeli reprisal…which they HAD to know would happen. There’s a whole lot of finger pointing by Palestinian supporters, and very few mea culpas.

But the Palestinians did succeed in one goal (actually, it was an Iranian goal executed through a Palestinian proxy), and that was to derail the impending trade deal between Israel and Saudi Arabia—which had the long term goal of establishing an alternative path from east to west to China’s "Belts and Roads" initiative. Iran would benefit from both the Belts and Roads project, AND from at least partially isolating the Saudis from it. Iran believes that a weakened Saudi Arabia is in Iran’s best interests…and visa versa…the Saudis believe the same about a weakened Iran.

…and this is only PART of the situation's complexity…

But the bottom line is that Israel, like any other nation state, has an absolute right to exist; and the Palestinians are absolutely dedicated to eradicating Israel. It’s in their organizing charter. All that would be necessary for peace to prevail would be for the Palestinians to renounce their desire to eradicate Israel. Relations could then eventually be normalized, and Palestinians could more easily access the Israeli economic engine—which could in turn jumpstart their own economic engine.

And then we could stop sending billions of taxpayer dollars to both parties.

The Caucasian Chicago man who stabbed the Palestinian boy to death, needs to be drawn and quartered, (after a trial by his peers) even if he is crazy as a loon. Not guilty by reason of insanity to me is a crock.

If I could sit down with both sides, I’d ask what do you see in 100 years for your countries. All I see is this bloodshed continuing forever. If they both said enough, I could see great things for both countries. This bloodshed and the resulting harm to America has existed since I was born. I’m really tired of it. Presidents spend a lot of their time brokering peace, to have it destroyed in a few years. This action will beget Israel’s response which will beget a response by others including Iran which will dig us in deeper. Iraq is now firing missiles at our bases in Iraq. Lord there seems to be no end to it.

And US Today now wants to shame me with the bigot label.

The last thing that bothers me is what the mainstream media and the other leftist loons call me. Deplorable, racist, bigot..ho hum.

About 90% of what they say is propaganda and/or lies anyway.

The inquisition was 4-500 years ago and no longer practiced. The slaughter of innocents by Muslims was a week ago Saturday, and continues. Therin lies the difference.

You are absolutely correct and, even as a Christian myself, I understand that. But the element of society which is either both atheist and leftist, or Muslim and leftist, tends not to be able to make that distinction. The reason they refuse to make that distinction isn’t so much because they are either ignorant of history or just dense; it’s because to acknowledge that distinction would require disallowing their chosen narratives.

Two American hostages released from Gaza, Fox News is told

We are thankful for small things.

Stockholm syndrome.

Relative of leftist journalist in America. Wouldn’t want that to lead to bad press.

Civilians shouldn’t be targeted murdered and kidnapped in in the first place.

Detroit 40 yo female Synagogue leader stabbed to death in her front yard. RIP.

“ She was instrumental in the founding of the Muslim-Jewish Forum of Detroit — a grassroots collective of young adults of both faiths who gather in partnership to learn, celebrate and build community together,' the glowing profile read. “

A Democrat apparently.

So was it Detroit or was it a targeted attack? My vote is Detroit.

Weapon is subsonic. Report arrives first. Bad guys still carry AK’s.
