The Central Firearms Registry doesn't employ the sharpest thinkers there:
While it's still not ideal here, we have many things to appreciate.
Actual S. African gun-license rejection letter

Re: Actual S. African gun-license rejection letter
It will never be ideal anywhere. Well, there is one place I've been told about.
Interesting letter, though. I wonder if that means if harm came to someone that they could sue the government since they have acknowledged their responsibility for crime.

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Crazy letter!!!
Societies need to decide if they want criminals to run the country or law abiding citizens.
SA is telling their law abiding citizens to hide out and hope for the best.

If the Democrat Party (and some RINOs) had their way, the USA would be the exact same way.

We promise to keep you safe.
We tell you not to go where it is dangerous.
If you get hurt, then it is because you decided to go somewhere dangerous, and that is not our fault.

Suing the state is the obvious idea but impractical over there - we're talking Africa.
