NORAD Pleads Incompetence Over Failure To Spot Trump-Era Chinese Spy Balloons

Having far above average knowledge of such things, I think it's obvious that the Brandon "administration" is lying... like always.

Breaking News

In continuing yet gentle searches for classified materials in Joe Biden's possession prior to his term as president, miscellaneous components and materials including visible light and infrared cameras, telemetry equipment, LIDAR arrays, and heavy, nonporous nylon sheeting have been found in the garage of one of Hunter Biden's homes. The FBI is neither confirming nor denying that this might be associated with a Chinese surveillance balloon brought down over Kansas during the Obama administration, but a spokesperson has told Reuters that the various items will be analyzed by the FBI.

Navy Releases First Images Of Chinese Surveillance Balloon Debris
measuring 200 feet tall and had a payload weighing nearly a ton.
So yeah, there is no way they missed that over the Pacific. Back in the 1981, during STS-1, the DOD had optics that from the ground could see Space Shuttle tiles in orbit (no need for spy satellites). The DOD would regularly practice watching the Space Shuttle re-enter the Earth's atmosphere over the Pacific... a vehicle moving at Mach 25... a whole lot faster than any balloon.

Did the the Chinese pay off Uncle Joe and Chinese Milley for a stand down? How many pieces of silver did these guys sell us out for???

US Links China's Military To 'Balloon Surveillance Program' That Targeted Over 40 Countries
The Chinese balloon that crossed the U.S. was outfitted with antennas likely capable of collecting communications, a senior State Department official said Thursday, adding that the Biden administration is preparing to take action against China’s surveillance program.

Providing details the U.S. has gathered since tracking and shooting down the balloon, the official said the balloon was also equipped with large solar panels capable of powering an array of intelligence-collection sensors. The manufacturer of the balloon has a direct relationship with the Chinese military, the official added.
That stuff lights up on radar:
Radar Interference
Another concern is blocking or attenuation of nearby radar
by the PV array, which are similar to other non-transmitting
built structure like building or sheds in that they are
constructed of metal and glass
.
PV arrays have low profiles (i.e. height) relative to most built
structures that may be found on or around airfields and in
general airport radar systems (e.g., airport surveillance radar)
are installed on elevated platforms or towers. The FAA has
published a number of case studies that indicate that a setback
of 250’ to 500’ between the leading edges of a PV array and
existing radar equipment is sufficient to prevent blocking and/
or signal reflection issues.

Fourth...item downed within the past hour over Lake Huron; unclear whether it was over U.S. or Canadian territory at the time. Supposedly it was U.S. F-16 that brought down "an octagonal shaped" object. Also unclear whether the same object is what caused a closure of airspace above northern Michigan earlier today.

The was a fifth scrambling of U.S. jets over northern Montana Saturday, but nothing was found. That was chalked up to being a radar anomaly.

I'm starting to get the impression that this been going on for quite some time, but that NORAD watches for radar blips in the more conventional airspace around 40,000 feet and below. It was after the monster balloon's slow CONUS tour that they started looking above 40,000 feet and, lo and behold, started finding unidentified objects, like, everywhere. As in three in the past three days.

At this rate, Biden will create the U.S. Balloon Force as the middle-atmosphere analog to the Air Force and the Space Force, and the official term for these things will be UNBOBs: Unidentified Balloon or Other Object. Biden will work with Trudeau to create a new cooperative to work with NORAD, this one to called NOBAD: North American Balloon Defense Command.
