I want this played at my funeral! And I want to be buried with a brace of .45's.

No one involved in the creation of this masterpiece could have had a clue how popular it would become almost immediately and remain so for decades.

For me it would have to be a tie between these two, and I'd like them played at my funeral as well

This is one of my all time favorite songs. Listen in a quiet place..

12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

You know (and I'm assuming here) that we are predominately conservative here and those opposite of us try to paint us as heartless so they can gain power. The fact is the we want to see the good people of this world left alone from the bullies so they can flourish. We have a sheep dog mentality and want to protect them from those (socialist/communist) that seek to spread pain and suffering. I hear this song and picture a leftist thinking how it applies to us. Little do they know ,they are the ones spreading oppression. They think we are cold and have a heart of stone.

We are going to see Brit Floyd this Saturday (6/23). I have seen Pink Floyd twice, once in 87 and in 94. I hope this is going to be some good fun even though it's a tribute band. Aussi Floyd is coming in September to Irvine if anyone is interested.

Roy Hamilton had a great, powerful voice and equally great range. It's sad he died so young. He was only 40 when he died in 1969 from a cerebral hemorrhage; the same thing that killed my mom at age 48 just over a year earlier. Here is a link to several of his songs: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... y+Hamilton
